How do I renew or request books online?

Renewing books

It is now possible to renew books online with our Online Catalog.

  • Go to My account in the menu bar at the top of the catalog home page.
  • Enter the 14 digit number (your library bar code) on your Greer card or library card.
  • A link will appear that indicates how many items are checked out to that number.
  • Click on the link to bring up a list of items checked out.
  • Click in the box for each item to be renewed and click on Renew Selected or click on Renew All.
  • The new due date for each item will appear in the Status column.

Placing Holds or Requesting an Item

Any patron may place a hold on any item currently checked out. Holds can be placed by circulation desk staff or online by the patron through the online catalog.

  • When a desired item is identified but checked out to another patron, click on the Request button.
  • When prompted, enter your library bar code and a final date for receiving the item to place a hold.

Patrons will be notified via email when the item is available.

Interlibrary Loan Requests

If you have a citation for a book that is not available at the Boyden Library and want to request that book from another library, complete an Interlibrary Loan form, attach your citation, and take it to the Reference Desk.
