How do I find out whether the library owns a magazine, journal, or newspaper?

All libraries provide some type of finding aid to enable their users to determine which periodical titles they own. Some libraries provide paper lists while others provide databases or electronic lists.

This library provides a paper list called the Periodical List to inform users which titles are purchased in paper, microfilm, and microfiche format and where these periodical are located in the library.

In order to determine which titles are available in full text in the research databases, users must check the title list provided by each database.

Periodicals are found in the following locations in this library:

  • Current issues--Periodical Reading Room--Main Floor
  • Back issues--Periodical Collection--Main Floor
  • Long runs of older issues--Faculty Lounge--Second Floor
  • Rarely used titles--Storage--Attic (ask for these titles at the Circulation Desk)
